If this consolidation happens, then if they look at the folks who have been here, then B.I. Salyers and Jimbo Adams would be the new coaches, especially if Norton comes in. All sorts of decisions to be made.

Conventional wisdom would say that with the job Salyers and Adams have done but what if Hamilton at Coeburn continues to build that program and would upset someone in the playoffs? If Palmer were to get the job at PV and they had a nice run the next two years he has more experince than both Jimbo and BI it could be a little more interesting and give all of us a lot to discuss.

B.I. really has no interest in sticking around he is trying to get out of Wise as it is and wants to move on to other pastures.

Any coach that is making a career of coaching should always be open to new opportunities to better themselves.

But as for B.I. having no interest in sticking around, I think you are way off base.

I am 100% correct the words came out of his mouth directly to me in a conversation, even know the schools he is interested in.

either way, that's probably not something he would want you posting on here. I'm with Sportsman, don't think he's going anywhere.

I'd be shocked if BI left Kelly before consolidation.

You are right about that but I personally don't see norton coming in to this mess. And I have heard the same thing about BI.

    Re: Football Coach at PV

Some people on here actually think Powell Valley is still a great coaching job, but it all reality it is not even a top five coaching position. I am surprised that it has drawn what little interest it has. Who wants to come to a down program in the mess that is Wise Co. Schools and get in a political firestorm and coach football. Powell Valley is not the second best program in Virginia and has not been for ten years. When will reality sit in and when will people realize that PV is just about to be a footnote in the history books of VHSL football. You can not continue in the past so you might as well get ready cause things are changing.

If someone goes into a job interview and they have coached at powell valley and had a .500 or better record, he is going to have a much better shot than a guy who comes in from coeburn with the same record, politics aside. PV may not be what they once were, but you can't dismiss the history, especially when you leave Southwest Virginia. That's my point.
